Yes, it's true. I should probably confirm what my husband has disclosed in the last blog. We're going to have a baby! I'm over 12 weeks along, and our baby looks something like the picture on the right. How great is that! The due date is July 24th, and our baby will join Mom, Shelby, Uncle Cesar and the rest of you that enjoy summer birthdays.I've been feeling pretty naseous and tired over the past month or so, but it's amazing to think what is going on inside my body. A few weeks ago, Dad treated us to a visit to the BodyWorlds exhibit. We were able to see actual embryos in various stages of development all the way up a fetus and then a baby. It was an overwhelming experience as we gained greater appreciation for the miracles that our bodies truly are. Although I became a bit queasy (I had lost my breakfast right before we left and didn't have anything on my tummy) it was fun to learn more about the intricate details of our anatomy and the new little creation that will be here in a few months. Oddly enough, Will's favorite part was the camel that had been split into 3 slices and was on display.
Speaking of bodies, we enjoyed making ours sore yesterday on the ski slopes. For Christmas Kitty treated us to some ski passes and we enjoyed a blue-bird day on the mountain.
Lots of awkward closeups.
We both had some pretty great falls, but I was admittedly more tame than usual knowing that I have some precious cargo on board. Will had such a graceful fall, as he did a volleyball roll over his shoulder, skis in the air, then landed right back on his feet. I was impressed in between giggles.
He's enjoying not only the scenery, but also the built in speakers in his beanie (another great Christmas gift). He loved cruising to his music.
Overall, it was great to be together in such a breathtaking setting coupled with a nice adrenaline rush. And I'm sure the baby had a blast on his/her first ski trip as mommy yelled "woo-hoo!"
Congratulations, you two! You will love being parents and I'm so excited for you!!
