Boredom = Lack of Imagination

So last night I WAS BORED in Laramie! It's Friday evening, and after a week of house cleaning/arranging, baby lovin' and work I just wanted to get out and "do" something, anything. Unfortunately, my best friend needed to hit the books. What was I supposed to do without him? The situation led me down a path of thinking of all the things I would do if I were in Salt Lake --hang out with my sisters, take Livvy swimming, go on a walk up the canyon, or simply window shop at the mall - any mall! (I think I would take good ol' 5 points mall at this point). So of course that train of thought didn't put me in the best of moods, especially as I considered my options in Laramie: attend the High School football game, go to Walmart again, watch the excited crowd on campus headed for the long-awaited and highly anticipated Lynard Skynard concert, or simply take a drive around this tiny town. After a shameful session of pouting, I finally opted for the last choice--Olivia and I went for a drive. As I weaved through the surrounding neighborhoods, a feeling came over me - "you know, this place isn't that bad." I found a dirt road that led to a hill on the edge of town that overlooks the University and surrounding area. The sun was setting, Train's Soul Sister came on the stereo, and I couldn't resist the urge to get out and have a dance party with my little lady. She was all giggles as we bounced around and enjoyed the pretty colors that reflected from the clouds of the wide-open Wyoming sky. It was a moment of realization -- a location is only as fun/enjoyable as you make it. Laramie is just going to require a little bit more imagination.

Well here are some recent visuals:
Livvy enjoying her rarely clean room

For her birthday Gma & Gpa Harnish made her a toy chest. She loves emptying that thing, along with everything on her shelves. Maybe someday she'll learn to put things away in it (I'm not holding my breath).
The bathroom has become her favorite room. Why? Because she loves the toilet-paper roll, and that is where she gets to bathe and brush her teeth (which she has to do herself). We always keep the door closed, but when she is allowed in there she always gets excited.

Someone is working really hard to get the door thing down. As you can see, she's really close but can't seem to get out of the way when she does open it.
Livvy loves the tot-lot in our "back-yard." Our patio opens right up to it and she is constantly trying to get out and join the kids at play. She now loves to slide by herself.

A recent visit to Daddy's school. We found him diligently studying--no goofing off for this guy!
All in all, we're happy here.
Like they say, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!
